The world is the way it is because the human ego is addicted to pain and struggle. Have you ever noticed how individuals bond to one another when they are able to share an experience of conflict, suffering or victimhood? You seek happiness yet you accept your thoughts as true and they constantly fail to deliver on their promise. The ego wallows in resistance and conflict looking for ways to divide you from others. It tells you that happiness lies in your ability to control others and events around you. But this will never happen! You don’t even have control over your own thoughts. They pop into and out of existence and all you can do is decide if you wish to attach yourself to them and take the ride. Many people don’t even exercise this control and let their thoughts control them. The only answer is to rise to a new level of consciousness. Stop believing your thoughts represent reality. You are not your thoughts. You are the awareness in which your thoughts arise. Wake up from the egoic illusion of beliefs and judgments that create conflict, resistance and fear. Happiness comes when you accept the present moment as it is and the past as it was, whether good or bad. You are not separate and alone. Your awareness is part of the consciousness of the universe shared by all of us. Look deep within with your mind quiet and you will find peace.
